in the paddocks of the family farm. From an early age Jackson hit the big time and became the youngest Crusty Demon, starting at the age of 13 years old and traveling round Australia, doing school by distance education as his bike-riding career was taking huge leaps and bounds. From early on Jackson, the rising star attracted the attention of sponsors like Honda and Monza Imports. Robbie Maddison proved to be a huge inspiration and role model for Jackson as Robbie invited Jackson to his place to offer training and advice. Proving to be the talented athlete he was, Robbie made it possible for young Jackson to make it onto his first Crusty Demons tour.

From the age of 15 years old it was not strange for Jackson to have to perform each weekend in front of 15,000 audience members. Jackson’s natural ability and skills paired with his hard work and amazing confidence seemed to pay off when on the 2007 Unleash Hell Crusty tour he became the youngest rider to back flip a full size motor bike. Even at 15 years old watching Jackson ride was as if there was not a nervous bone in his body, whether he was upside down, hanging off the end of the bike or standing on the handle-bars.

Students from all over listened to how Jackson worked hard to achieve his goals at such a young age, inspiring other children to do the same. Jackson maintains it is important to keep a balance in your life and enjoys water skiing, shooting, para-motoring and motorcross as lots of other country kids do.

As Jackson’s international freestyle motocross career gained momentum, in 2009 he was invited to be a part of the profound and notorious group of freestyle motocross riders – the ‘Metal Mulisha’. Brian Deegan, founder of the group, was an inspiration to Jackson and he recognized Jackson as the future of freestyle, inviting him to live with him at the compound in Temecula, California for 6 months, training with the top 15 riders in FMX. Affiliation with ‘Metal Mulisha’ together with Jackson’s determination, increased his exposure gaining entry into competitions in Peru and the Asian X-Games in Shanghai, China. Shortly after heading back to Australia for the 2009 Beyond the Apocalypse Crusty tour, an invitation was received to compete in the three stop competition known as the Dew Tour however injury prevented this.
